May 3, 2026 — The Philippine Law School (PLS) community successfully conducted its virtual Miting de Avance (MDA) via Google Meet, marking a crucial step toward the Student Council Elections for the upcoming academic year.
The event saw an impressive turnout of 112 participants, including Associate Deans, the Student Electoral Board (SEB), faculty members, and the student body.
The event’s best part was the presentation of visionary platforms, where candidates
outlined comprehensive plans centered on academic excellence, student welfare, and proactive community engagement for the 2026-2027 term. This was followed by a period of rigorous inquiry, featuring a lively Q&A session that empowered incumbent officers and students to challenge the aspirants on the practical feasibility and long-term impact of their proposed policies. Lastly, the forum fostered a high level of democratic engagement, providing a transparent atmosphere for the electorate to effectively gauge the leadership readiness and integrity of each candidate before heading to the polls.
The MDA also highlighted the law school’s commitment to a proactive and informed student government. As the campaign period draws to a close, the student body is encouraged to reflect on the insights shared during the MDA.
Further, with the platforms now laid out, the PLS community now prepares to cast their votes on May 11, 2026 for the next generation of student leaders who embody the school’s standards of excellence and service. – PLS Student Electoral Board
